A Cup of Tea Helps Burn Fat and Extra Calories!

I never used to be a tea drinker until I discovered drinking a certain combination of teas, safely burns fat and boosts my metabolism. I take a few minutes every day to relax and enjoy an exotic combination of white, red and Matcha green teas to help me burn calories more efficiently. It is a part of my day I really look forward to. Benefits of Green Tea

Research has shown that even though, green tea contains caffeine (about half as much as coffee) it does not significantly raise people’s heart rates.  This led to a conclusion that green tea helps people to lose weight naturally and safely. The secret to its effectiveness lies in the high concentrations of polyphenols. These compounds work with other chemicals to intensify levels of fat oxidation and thermogenesis, where heat is created in the body by burning fuels such as fat. 

Green tea prevents sharp increases of insulin in the blood.  Remember insulin stimulates the body to store fat.  As a result, fat is burned faster without being “locked” in the fat cells. 

There is also evidence that green tea’s polyphenols (EGCG) helps to depress leptin, a protein produced by fats that plays an important role in how the body manages fat storage through brain signals. Lower leptin levels decrease the appetite.

According to the “American Journal of Clinical Nutrition”, November 1999,   green tea increases noradrenaline levels. Noradrenaline is a chemical neurotransmitter in the nervous system that plays a major role in activation of brown fat tissue. Activation of brown fat is significant, because it burns calories from the white fat located around our waistline, hips and thighs.

Is this a magic solution to weight loss?

No. However, that being said, just by drinking one cup of tea a day I burn about an extra 78 calories.  That’s over 28.000 calories in a year, or about 8 pounds of weight.  I combine this with a healthy lifelong approach to weight and fitness.
